We had great experiences!!!
I bought the passes with my daughter came home from New Zealand for a visit. It gave us the opportunity to visit some of the highlights in San Francisco. I would highly recommend the City Pass for anyone visiting SF on vacation.

You need time to enjoy it…
Was in SF for 48hours and it was not enough to break even. Plus certain attractions will charge extra fees depending on the time.

Exactly what we wanted, highly recommended
I was skeptical about CP but since it included all four attractions in the SF area we were interested in I figured “why not?”
First off, it saved us money and time. It was clearly cheaper than buying tickets at each individual attraction, even on their own Website. Secondly, it saved us a bunch of time in waiting in lines or other queues. We just walked right in.
The app needs a little work or at least wasn’t very intuitive for me. Every time I opened it, I had to select the city and proper pass. It would be nice not to have to go through these selections every single time once I made my purchase. (I’m obviously not going to book a City Pass in Chicago during my SF trip)
Each experience offers its own QR code through this city pass app and it was simple enough to just present these to the various attraction ticket scanners. Although I surprisingly enjoyed the bay cruise. booking was a little different because we had to select a time in advance. But let’s be honest, that was a very minor hiccup.
I actually called City Pass for assistance and the customer service was great. (It was user error, no surprise there)
We tried to get all four experiences done in two days and we were successful, however A: they were long days, B: He is old enough to keep up (wouldn’t recommend to power through these attractions with kids under 8-10yrs old minimum, C: We showed up exactly when the attraction opened and stayed until closing (Exploratorium, Cal. Academy of Science) and D: My son and I were very nimble in navigating from one experience to the next. I’m not sure I would recommend trying to get four things done with the entire family in two days.
Pro tip: if you’re in the San Francisco Bay area, download the SpotHero app to find parking garages and schedule them in advance. This made a HUGE difference and took a lot of the guess work out of our expenses and overall trip.

Saved money and was super convenient
A friend was visiting for a weekend in San Francisco so I bought two CityPASS for us. It saved us a bunch of money over the individual cost of tickets, and was very simple to use with the phone app that manages everything. Would absolutely use CityPASS again.

Not happy traveler from
Not great experience.
I bought CityPASS but actually wasted money as I was only able to visit two places. It would be great to offer more options with less places to visit such as two but lower prices.

It was awesome
I loved it but I didn’t end up using all the tickets and didn’t know there was an option for only 4 tickets until after buying it. It was too cold in San Francisco to do the cruise.

Great, if you can walk miles and miles...
The options are not elderly friendly. Basically, you have to walk miles and miles at each attraction. The exception being the Blus & Gold boat tour. Unfortunately, even the boat tour was a literal washout, as we got soaked by a wave half way through the expedition. So if you're elderly or just can't walk that well or much, then avoid this product. They really need to add more options for people that aren't very mobile, such as admission to the ferris wheel or a Muni day pass or admission to a comedy or magic show, etc...
